You'll find it will more than likely work first time...give it a try. You won't need the runtime thing, just download the software from the link on page one, plug it in and away you go

i'll try the xp. as for windows 7 when i run the runtime all i do is click run, then a promt comes up (not in english) click yes, status bar goes to 100% then another promt comes up (again not in english) and says ok. i cant really go wrong there surly lol.

That's right then, the program's in Russian.

I might have an issue with the driver. I'm going to try the windows xp approach first. See if I have more luck.

Yeah that's a good point...Win7 throws up all sorts of errors and security alerts...easy to click the wrong thing. Seem to recall I did first time I tried...

Just want to thank my mrs daughter and Brendan for setting up my car with the new stuff, (auto lock, passenger air bag, radio dash display etc). I'm useless with computers, and after buying the ELM off Brendan, and sending me the software, between them both on each end of the phone then uploaded the new stuff on the car. Right click my computer and select properties then device manager ( when your thingy is plugged in) then take a screen shot of ( print screen) and post it here so we can see what drivers it needs ...

I dont have the runtime pack installed on 7 as it didn't work for my adapter... I googled the drivers and installed them and it worked a treat.

I initially had trouble getting Windows XP to recognise the cable, so in addition to the runtime files and the ELMConfig software I installed the USB cable driver below (link to my Dropbox share):

These appear to be for all platforms...and once installed everything else went like magic

Before anyone does anything with these, Brendan might want to cast judgement over my post!

I am trying to disable the door ajar chime but get a FRW.dat not found when trying to read the module

Tried on two cars mine and a ST and I get the same error message... its not the switch position cos in the other position I get a can error......

Any ideas??

There's a new version available, from what I've read it now allows SRM to be configured which is of interest to me having just retrofitted bluetooth. If anyone trys it can you have a look at this for me as I don't have a cable myself,
