Do you think this model of car Ford Focus RS MK3 is a easy car to steal with the standard security????

As stated nothing is secure these days, if they really want it they will get it, Ive even heard of people driving round in Hiab Truck all stickered up looking genuine lifting cars and no one batting a eye lid

This is currently happening near your work. We are onto the truck in question now
Hope you catch them
You police by any chance?
Reason I mentioned it is because the focus RS mk2 where quite easy to steal n just wondering surely ford should of made the security better for the mk3 but I totally understand when a thief wants something they will get it at what ever cost

Unless you are a thief.... then don't sign up as a member  Instead, go to the nearest police station, hand yourself in and ask them to lock you up and throw away the key

Hi Colin, yes I am. If you can see my profile pic, it gives it away I think ;)

There are plenty of tips and methods listed in the paid members section in an attempt to make your prized possession less appealing to the common car thief.

Hi Robbo...

Different layers of security are the way forward fella, won't stop the thieving scumbags if they really want your car though but will be a deterrent....

Have myself heard of the 'pick up truck' scam scum and I hope @Jamie and his colleagues catch the dirty little toe rags sharpish. Go get em boys!!! 👍🏼

Thought you had yours stolen then!

Does the MK3 not have the safety feature where Ford rings your car if its been in a crash? Surely that means they are tracked somehow? (I could be wrong though lol)

I imagine most modern car alarms are easily good enough to deter the common thief...

To address the elephant in the room, yes basically.

Now lets not tangent off to another Brexit thread  but the open access OBD was something introduced by the EU so Ford's hands are tied and the MK3 is as equally vulnerable as the MK2.

M3s are as vulnerable if not more vulnerable than the RS. Keyless entry is a mistake IMO.
New member, starts asking about security, don't be surprised if no one gives any details!
Where did you get that information about M3's from?

After the general uproar on keyless entries posted on the net in general, Watchdog did a piece and BMW were one of the leading manufacturers that actually did something about it...

As discussed many times previously, the vulnerability is actually the availability of access and clone electronic systems out there to the general public (read thieves). Until that is addressed ALL manufacturers will be vulnerable, it's the nature of the electronic age.
