Power Fold Mirrors Operation

Hi all,
New to this forum as I'm currently on the STOC but activity looking for a new MK3 RS.
I have a narrow garage and need to fold the wing mirrors in to give me a bit more clearance. However, I'm concerned if the mirrors will automatically unfold if I open the door or start the engine as they just might foul the passenger side wall of the garage.
Is there a way round this?
Cheers
Stu

Ahh, my garage is an integrated part of my house with good security. So, if I was brave enough, I could fold in on entry, lock garage, NOT lock car. Then on exit, drive out with them still folded in?

I suspect that the car may well auto lock itself if the key is outside and no activity has been detected for a while since the door last closed. It certainly does if you unlock and then do not open a door, I'm not sure if it does anything similar if there has been no key on (or power button in the case of the RS) since the door was closed.

Mark's suggestion sounds like a winner though.

Hi Stu I can confirm you can do the above and LOCK the car, upon unlocking, keyless or with remote, the mirrors will stay folded until the time you press the internal fold/unfold button. I know this as often I drive off and forget and do a mile or so until I notice they're still folded!
