Mazda MPS runs with a similar set up. There is a matching moulding on the inside of the bonnet, to stop it drawing in hot air from the warm side of the engine bay.

 

^^But that's drawing air directly into the Intercooler for the Turbo, not an airbox.

Airbox is front right - kinda triangular (my old car):

Good to see M is on the case already , it seems, it would be a much earlier release of MP for Mk3 this time around, then it was with Mk2 :nice:

Looking at that engine bay. I can see parts to spruce the engine bay up won't be cheap. Field of plastic lol

 

obviously the rubber seal sits against the underside of the bonnet to stop any heat getting in but i cant see the point of the front cut out section where you can see the filter? surely theres enough air flow through the 2 normal inlets and the new top one?

its an ugly old thing for sure
