The Ford I Part Ex'd in for my RS was this colour, (I think it's Deep Impact Blue), I really liked it and would have probably picked it again. Funny thing is now I've had the RS a while my brain has gone all Nitrous on me, just looks wicked when it pops in the sunlight, that's when we actually get some sun.

Cars in a a Metallic Black are also a favourite of mine.

 

To me that's the problem with the mk3, you thought it was an RS but it was an ST, you'd never make that mistake with the mk2's. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a good car, no, great car and excellent to drive but just doesn't have the visual impact that I prefer in a car. Saying that will probably buy one at some point, this is just my personal opinion.

That's the reason I picked stealth for my ST3......unique to ST3 & RS only!

Not now you don't, but if you rewind 7 years I think you'll find the is it or isn't it comments re the mk2 in the forum, together with the it's just a modified ST and it's a Volvo. Some things never change. (Except replace Volvo for Mazda.. )

I wouldn't worry, Ford shall probably change the name for the same colour, at least they did with the solid red used on the Focus mk3.

On way home last night we stopped along side a stealth focus st, mrs was like that is lovely y didn't u pick that colour in your Rs.

Definitely a colour that looks much better up close and personal.

 

Deep Impact Blue is a great colour, had it on my Fiesta Zetec S daily driver before I changed it for my current Golf GTD in grey.

 

Its a shame they dont do the RS in spirit blue, that would look ncie

I don't know why they didn't do them in Spirit Blue. That's a far better shade than Deep Impact and doesn't need the sun to make it look good. It's very similar to Imperial Blue, which is my all time favourite Ford colour. Both Imperial & Spirit are stunning colours.

 

And if Spirit Blue had been an option for the Mk3 it would have made my choice of colour so much easier.

The thing is I'm the complete opposite. I'd never own the Mk2 as its too shouty for me especially in green! I like the new RS because it's more subtle but it's more distinct than the Golf R. You can't please everyone though

Every single Fiesta ST you see is that flipping colour so there would have been nothing unique about it at all.

 

I've never been too fussed about whether other people misrecognise my car or not. It's what it means to me that's important.

I love that colour. And surprisingly I don't see many in Spirit Blue round here.

I wanted to get our Mk3 ST3 in Spirit, but the other half went for Race Red.

Spirit is a far better blue than Deep Impact. On a dull day Deep Impact looks more like Doom Blue. :laughing:

Do you mean the launch colour? That was Liquid Blue.

 

For me, Deep Impact Blue looks like a "Ford colour" whereas Nitrous doesn't. That's what put me off going for Nitrous. I would have definitely went for Deep Impact/Performance Blue on the Mk3 RS.
