Is it feasible to retrofit front parking sensors and can they be linked/wired to the Sync 2 unit in the car?

I would think it can be done, i asked similar years ago with the mk2 as my mates 2010 Cmax is specced with front sensors, which is essentially the same, wiring wise as the Focus.

I suspect the parking sensor module may be different to allow the 2 sets rather than just the rears to be used but i never did find out for sure.

The previous owner got front and back aftermarket parking sensors put on. There is a button beside the handbrake to activate the front ones, i have used the front about twice in the whole time i have had the car going on nearly four years

I wonder what if any hardware differences are required for automated parallel parking, are the electric assist steering racks common (on say a Focus or C-Max Titanium with and without the park assist) and it's just a case of having factory front sensors and enabling the software? Or is more hardware required?

I prefer to do my own wheel twirling but it would be a fascinating how to thread if it is technically possible with the steering rack already on the RS.

I have this on my Focus Titanium and used it several times, takes some getting used to, to see the wheel twirling away by itself is spooky - but fun!

I had one of those for a couple of days.

I set up a bit of a makeshift parking bay in the warehouse and a few of my work colleagues had a play. As you say the wheel turning is a bit spooky and it's really hard to sit on your hands and trust the system.

X vision are the only warranty friendly parking sensors you can use on a Ford. Iirc it is the only 3rd party accessory that has this approval! The xvision kits are very good but need to be evenly spaced and have to forward facing and 2 angled to be most effective. So unless you mount them either side of the number plate they wont work very well. Personally,I would rather have the extra cooling from the more aggressive bumper than front parking sensors.
