I installed a battery LITHIUM ION on my Focus. It is much lighter than the original battery.
Origin whith support: 21 kg.
Lithium Ion: 2 kg.

This tiny battery gives the impression of being unable to start the engine, and yet it does this without difficulty.
Price of this battery: 200 pounds
The pods come from my previous Odyssey battery.

Interesting.. Li-ion batteries are quite explosive if damaged, but I guess the positioning means that's quite unlikely even in a relatively large impact. Would be interesting to know if there are any rules in motorsport and on the road regarding their use..
In our race cars they just have to be securely mounted to pass MSA regs and scrutineering.

They can be mounted in the cabin too.

People often move them towards the back for a slight weight distribution improvement.

Had one of these on my old exige for a few years and my brother also still runs one on his vx220. You can still use a ctek to trickle charge them.

We originally trialed them on our two cars (exige/vx220) as they supplier was concerned how they would stack up on road going cars, I.e.. My exige had central locking elec windows AC etc and we never had any issues other than they didn't seem to hold charge quite as long as a normal battery. Interesting to see how you go on with it on the RS as nor heard of bigger cars running them.
