I have just purchased a decat and will soon be putting it on the car however I don't want the engine management light to be on, I thought I could get his solved by getting it mapped to stage one, however I have been told it has to be stage 2.
What difference does it make?
The ECU is being modified so why can't they just turn it off? Or am I being stupid??

Thanks in advance for any help :)

On my old golf you could buy spacers for the sensor to sit in and it wouldn't bring the light on.

Spacing the sensor away from the direct airflow is what the sensor does, unsure if it would work on the focus though

You can buy a elbow which removes the sensor out off the flow, or the stage 1 jamsport map I had was fine with a decat

If you had an elbow then got the car mapped Would the lamba sensor need putting back in its normal position after mapping?

The idea behind the elbow is to move the after cat lamda sensor out of the flow, it's not used for anything other than to make sure the cat is working, it's not needed other than that so becomes redundant

I spoke to a Revo specialist in Norwich, and they told me I need stage 2 to remove it.
Think I will give jamsport a call, anyone on here promoting them?

Personally I wouldnt go to anyone other than them

I've got an elbow on mine, does the trick most of the time, ocassionally comes on, but i've got a code reader sitting in the car so just clear it the odd few times it comes on

That is my question I haven't got a map at the moment and was hoping a map would sort the issue when I get my decat on.

Probably how I have put it across mate.

I have been speaking to the Revo place in Norwich and he said he can't remove EML light on stage one.
He has no idea what he's talking about or is trying to make you spend more money then.
