I was set on forged wheels..... in grey as per many of the test mules, now only looking like black as an option...I just dont know if I like them and find myself leaning to the standard silver wheel...anyone else??

I don't think the configurator is finished yet as it keeps changing with little details so there's still time for a different colour forged option maybe

I have commented elswhere about the Black only option on these. I am really disappointed. Even the standard wheels have been seen in 3 colours, the Black, Silver and Grey(ish).

I will speak with Ford (dealer) to see if they can paint them or I have to get them done myself before delivery, or I go aftermarket!

I have a friend who is extremely good at powder coating wheels in all different types of finishes. He is OCD about his work, which I like. Think I will be sending the forged over to him to be done in hyper silver with a fancy metallic flake (possibly blue to match the calipers) Probably cost me £200 but think it will be the best option. Also with the quality of his materials I can see the wheels outlasting the car!

At the price Ford is offering Rs, which absolute steal, you can have them easily sprayed any colour you desire, don't see the issue here lads, I will be doing the same at my local wheel specialist :nice:

Oh yeah, I will considor getting them painted, but it would be nice to have them done at the factory. I don't fancy going to pick up my nice new shiney car and to look at it and think, yuk!

Then to find the weights the painters use corrode within days!

I know where you're coming from mate, better to spec from the factory. But we can't have everything we desire all the time , can we ? some would like white, others silver, anthracite etc every little adjustments in production raises the price :nice:
Maybe we would get different colour opt in a year or so, as per Mk2.
Paint Quality of wheels specialist is on par with factory paint, never had a problem in 7 years.

No big deal getting them done a different colour if not, assuming the forged wheels are painted to Fords normal standard which never lasts no matter how well you look after them, they'll probably end up better for it.

I do find it odd that Ford are not offering any colour options for the wheels.

Wheels are a major appearance on a car and as we can see here a lot of diversity to taste.

There does seem a lot of people, like me, who want the Forged wheels in Silver NOT Black (which I am happy to see), and in opposite those wanting the standard wheel, not in Silver, but in Black (or Grey).

I think it is very narrow minded of Ford not to offer colour options on the wheels when they are such a major item.

I would hope Ford listen to comments from forums like this and will offer these colours choices when they realise so many people don't want what is on offer. Why give options on some items, but not on others, ones that are more subjective.

I don't think they'll do anything about the actual design of the wheels now though...

I would order standard wheels and wait for Mountune to release their upgrade. On the Mk2 the Ultras almost eliminated all torque steer, so would rather wait to have something developed by them that was tested for the car. Just an idea.

Was that due to the wheel or tyres? I know in my MK1 I had no problem with torque steer on the standard tyres but when I changed them to bridgestones, it ruined the car
