Hello everyone, i need a new throttle body. Ive been searching around and you cant get anything from bosch anymore. Ive phone bosch asking for alternatives but nothing. The porsche one are also used parts aswell and quite alot for a used part plus need a 70mm pipe.

Is there any other alternatives that will work or places that can maybe even refurbish them. I know someone else is having issue's but his yet to find a answer.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you need a new throttle body? I had an issue with mine a couple of years back at 139,000 miles so bought a replacement but I'm pretty sure the "issue" was nothing more than a gummed up spindle (it wouldn't return to idle but a blast of Wynn's Carb Cleaner sorted that). I haven't tested the original, now cleaned up, TB to be fair as it's too much of a faff to swap it back in.

Throttle body on mk2 Focus RS is the same as a mk2 ST.

Thanks for your replys. I was told throttle body shouldn't be cleaned as thats what caused my spare i brought to fail. I know alot on here have cleaned them but every mechanic/ Specialists and throttle rebuilder told me that will cause it to fail. They are very robust parts but age and miles i suppose they failing now. My original i sent off to be refurb but told it was scrap.
Thats where im at. Secondhand are as we all no know hit or miss could last 50k or 500 miles.

Mega bucks for what they are. Plus i actually phoned bosch who said they dont make them anymore but yet ford still sells them.
I found one on amazon for £130 debating whether its any good?

Christ I think I sold a 70mm one for like £100 quid third hand back in the day, ran it for a bit while I painted the standard one performance blue to match the car...

See if you can get one from a Volvo dealer.

People will say many things when justifying the purchase of an expensive part. Truth is the RS does share the throttle body with the ST (2.5 engines). If you think you have a throttle body issue try a second hand one first to be sure.

I bought one off Amazon for £134.31 it arrived today and it is a Bosch part. It took 15 days to arrive but at that price it is worth the Waite, at that price I may order another for when they are definitely not available from Ford.

Wow that is a fair old whack for that part €741.97 which would almost equate to the same in British pounds (£650) 😧 must be cheaper options out there I’d definitely try Volvo, a few Volvo dealers I’ve spoken to are enthusiastic about the Volvo/RS engine and have been most helpful with sourcing me bits 👍
