Some of you may know I’ve owned a s1 now for ehhhh along time

over the last ten years I’ve just left it in the garage not bothered with it

lots of water under the bridge I decided It was time to get her back on the road

after lots of money and time she started again on Boxing Day

just thought I’d tell ya lol

She has Always given me grief from the day I bought her
I am amazed how much money stuff costs for them

I needed a sensor which had sold out across Europe. I ended up getting it from America. I could of got another car for what it cost

The RS Monica has a lot to answer for….poxy Old Ford’s

if the focus goes the same way and we can’t get parts this is not going to be a fun old age.

Cheers you lot

water pump sounds a little rough , I did cam belt and tensioner thinking the water pump would be ok

Next item to do before I really leave her running

front brakes are back on with new stud and nut kit
Rears next

need to find a gear knob and a battery
Clamp before I move on to ripping my shed apart to find the other bits I took off

moving house wasn’t conducive to parts relocation lol

I’ve only ever changed the tensioner

but it’s not sounding good.

I’ve changed the starter to a transit Connect version. Wow that’s a difference

I’m not really a picture person but I may add a few to show how I’m going on

long story back In the day with heat

Old school fith injector no efi still mfi

she Was running noz but I’ve removed that now (I’m to old for that and if the boy gets the car he won’t have a clue lol)
Are ok,the mf2 fifth injector ?,I ran that disconnected now as I had my metering head reworked at Kmi to run more power
you’ve got me interested now about your set lol

It was a slippery slope back then

by the time I’m done she will be about 240 which is plenty

yes it’s the mf2 it’s a blue injector
I’ve got old pic of when it had the noz on it

I still have the bottle in the boot as I’ve left the purge kit In.
ive plumbed it to a spray bar on the intercooler

There was a company back then called Ava they built them

it keeps the turbo in the same place but the lengths are more equal compared Tothe cast original version
(Probably makes no difference lol)

I had the metering head modded for more but I only got to 210 back then

there is probably more that can be done now but I’m trying to keep the mods for the retro ness of them

it has water injection/meth aswell

Get it on dude, I had it unwrapped but the throttle cable didn’t like it

Nope fitted myself had to get a flex joint put into the exhaust aswell as they can crack or rip studs out

they did the first ones highly polished think mine was pulled from under the bench lol

You and I probably know each other from other forums or maybe the rs owners club (ok ok now that’s a marmite subject)

I did do the 25year anniversary meet with the Register
And over the moons I have been on a few club stands at ford fair

So you in a mk2 focus or 3
Probably should of asked you that ages ago lol
Or should I be worried that youre a spotter

I placed two small spacers under each cross over post and had the leads run across the cam cover

but in truth they don’t touch
The throttle cable I’ve still not really sorted but it will melt if you leave it as normal

I’ve had to put heat proof on the cross over aswell

To be fair that was exactly my route
Got the inlet and even got an external wastegate to be put into the exhaust
Screamer to
(Pretty sure I scraped the inlet and the rest is in the shed )

it became an obsession and that’s one of the reasons I left it alone for so long

They got 308 from mfi back in the day
So my view was if a race team can
Then I can

yeah it’s all I got too EFI ,EFi oh go away

honestly 300 is to much the sweet spot is 200 imo

I must admit I had 200 with a torn boost pipe lol on the rollers
