Everything manufactured has at least a unique batch ID for tracing.
So why wouldn't large things like cars have a build number tracked back to its VIN?

Yes the famous "Clarkson Duel Car" I've owned it for about 2 years now and fair play it has been looked after and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, but it don't get used that much to try and keep the mileage down .
