Just been struck by this today. I've always run my car in sport mode since I got it in may, however with the rubbish weather this week I thought I'd pootle about in normal mode all week and save a bit of petrol.

Finally got bored this morning and put it back in sport mode and got this fault, loss of abs, heavy steering and no awd.

I find it strange that I've done 6800 miles all in sport mode and never had a problem then in the last week I do 150 in normal and this happens.

I take it the fault sorts itself out by itself?

Mine has done it twice in the last two days both times was when the engine is fully up to temperature and seems to be when I stop the car and then start it again. Did it at fuel station and then also the next day with same conditions. Strange as it hasn't done it for a good couple of months now.

So, basically, everyone whose had the PCM is at some point going to have to go back for another PCM update as the original one/s seem to have been bug ridden. Also, it's been stated that it's just a minor change to the oil check algorithm but a Ford Tech is saying there are 23 patches/changes. Bit of a shambles

I have the original PCM and FPM375 and all is good. I wont risking updating the PCM again

PCM update 2 weeks ago and not had auto stop start work since.

Today I got this message twice (no drive modes), never had it before. Got the message after 125 miles, nipped in to a service station and came out to this.

I don't normally drive that far though.

I haven't read all of the thread to be honest, but I'd suspect this to be related to the condition of the battery.

If you're not doing any decent mileage and giving the battery time to replenish following the heavy demands of starting the engine, then the monitoring system will disable certain functions.

I would suspect that either a long drive or putting the battery on a good conditioner would give different results.

No Drive Modes three times now since the update!!!!!

Was the gear change arrow supposed to have gone after the update, also I have noticed that my a/c knob no longer controls both side temps on the one knob?????

Back on track , I really only want to visit the dealer with the no drive modes problem when they actually have a solid solution, does anyone know if this is near.

If the ac controls are in "dual" mode the drivers side will only adjust that side, dual mode needs to be off.

I had the 'no drive mode available' message for the first time last week.

Around 7000 miles, no PCM update, normal driving conditions i.e. sitting behind a long flow of traffic doing 45/50mph for the last 10 mind numbing miles then the massage pops up when trying to switch mode. I then try it again 5 seconds later and no problems, it changed into sport mode and it hasn't happened again since.

I don't recollect the exact outside temperature but it was on the cold side up here last week so it could be something to do with that. Other than that I'm at a loss as to what could have caused mine to stop working for that very brief moment, quite strange.

Mine doesnt ever happen on cold mornings.

Mine happens when youve been for a drive. You get out of the car for 5/10 - say you go into a petrol station or something and you get back into the car, start it up again and boom you get the message. Its a complete pain in the hole.
Mine does exactly the same. Not affected by cold weather, only after going for a short 10 min drive, stopping and restarting the engine will give the error.

It's happened twice to me in the last week.

Also, this has only happended since the PCM update. Never had the error before the update.

As posted earlier on in this thread I have had this issue but yesterday was slightly different. I didn't get the drive mode unavailable message but the drive mode button didn't seem to do anything. Will have to get it booked in soon as seems to be doing it more often now.

Hi any update to your issue?? I've EXACTLY the same issue with NO drive mode button doing anything and car booked in for Monday to sort?? Any info would be very greatly appreciated!!

Thanks.
