Hi Guys, Iv trawled everywhere on here but all I can find is 'BOOST SOLENOID'... Can anyone help here as I don't think its this as iv got no boost what so ever... it almost sounds as if its blowing from the turbo when I give it alitte rev... any help is very much gratefull so thanks in advance for your help!

Few things you can check is boost hoses. Check to see if they are intact. Are they connected. If your getting a whisterling sound it could also be manifold gasket it turbo to dwn pipe gasket. Also check dwn pipe bolts. You may have them missing

cheers for your reply... iv checked all the pipes/hoses and all seem to be ok... there is 1 manifold bolt missing tho but this wouldn't cut all the boost tho would it...!!

If I remember correctly one member had the MAF sensor off and was getting a similar problem, worth checking if it needs a clean?

Not sure if this will help you but you've got nothing to lose.

just taken down pipe off and found the problem... turbo is blown... (no fans on hot side - down pipe side)

can anyone give me some advice on wether to get mine re-conditioned or new or even upgrade... whats your thoughts guys or any suggestions...!!!

Ouch. Sorry to hear that.

All depends on cost. And what you're willing to spend. And the level of tune you want given the set-up of your car right now.

I think sourcing a new standard turbo is going to be hard. Even Mountune has a wait for those.

Therefore reconditioning yours might be an option depending on the extent of the damage. Otherwise most tuners offer a hybrid but they're not cheap at all.

Someone on here might know of a specialist they could send you to depending on where you're based.

cheers @theneone ... Mines running approx. 380 (stage 2) and don't want to take it any more than that either so not sure what to go for... maybe get mine recon'd as its not smoking or nout just the fins have snapped from the shaft... :cry:

Have you retreaved all the bits ?
And why did it lose blades (what did it hit )
As it may not be over yet

If it's run out of true that turbo is probably a total loss

As theo has said sourceing a cheap turbo is Gona be difficult

The blades will be in his exhaust somewhere. I'd like to see the turbo myself. Wonder how that's happened

Blocking the cat now then

If there's damage on the impeller the compressor has probably hit the caseing too

it looks as if the propellas seem to have hit the casing and just smashed into pieces... iv put a de-cat pipe on so im guessing its all been shot out of the pipes...??

keep an eye on focus st/rs parts for sale on facebook

Seen a few turbos for sale the past few weeks, usually around £800 ish
