So, now we have the Dyno up and running we specifically need some standard models of the main cars we work with to give us a scientific benchmark to work from.

If you have a standard Focus RS Mk2 , Fiesta ST180 , Focus ST250 or Toyota GT86 and want to have it tested at a special one off price we will be more than happy to fit you in.

We need 5 cars of each type so its first come first served , get in touch if interested.

Obviously we will be testing any 2wd car at any power (well upto1000hp anyway) but we specifically are looking for some standard cars in the first instance to try and get a sensible drivetrain loss %age vs the Ford engine/flywheel figures

rather than just guess a loss figure we will take an average of the standard cars we test (and keep updating as the number grows) and use that to extrapolate the loss figure , for me this is the best and most accurate way to try and give an engine figure for those that want to know

that way even if some believe our set up reads high or reads low at the hubs it doesnt matter because the converted figured will all be derived the same way

Cheers

If you would need a 1M at any point Jason, give me a shout :nice:
happy to test any car of course , we just dont specialise in the 1M but alwasy nice to build a database so we would offer the same cheaper rate for any car that is the first of its type tested

cheers

For a normal booking on a one on one basis its £50.00 + VAT

for the reduced rate offer for the standard cars we are trying to get its £35.00 + VAT

we will also have an RS Open day in due course and the lower rate will apply then also but thats likely to be in the new year now

Just so people know what we are trying to put together here and the 'unique' experience it may be once 100% set up

Your car will be attached to the hub system where we will create a template test specifically for each car with an extensive data report, we can input most if not all modification data including head work , intakes , exhausts and so on which can all be in the report, we will have a camera link to a 40" screen in our waiting area and the dyno will be smart linked to an Apple iPhone which you will be given to monitor during the test

we wont have anyone other than staff in the dyno bay but you should be able to see clearly the work going on and the full test run via the TV screen, all the operations we make via our laptop or Apple device will be seen on the iPhone you can see personally which means all operations are 100% transparent

once the test is done we will display the results so you can see them to and you will get a full print out of your results and data report

we are still working on some of the technology install but hope to have that side up and running very soon, the dyno is already operational

we think it will be a slightly different dyno experience to many and hope its what the customer is looking for in terms of technology, information and transparency

cheers

Surely the standard cars you want to Benchmark and work from should be given a free run and not a reduced cost as they are helping you out? I would never pay to roll a Standard car as you know what that is pretty much running out of the factory.

I've not saving all standard free, but those donor cars should initial be free to help you get your baseline.

I'm not standard, so it doesn't really effect me anyway.

Good point coggers.

Surely you standard boys should have a free run as its been pointed out, you are going to be learning off other peoples cars :D

Lots of people have standard cars and like to run them even though they know what they should be getting , just to check they are still performing to the expected level

Lets get something straight here , no one is 'helping us out' we are trying to provide a service , a service that ultimately we are hoping will provide a little bit of a different experience to the typical dyno set up we have been offered in the past ourselves. Part of that service was to try and create a scientific approach to giving the end user all the information they might want to see , some of that information might be a flywheel figure where some real science and effort has gone into it rather than just second guessing a transmission loss , this is something we can do for people no problem but i dont 'have to do it'

we can simply provide everyone with a hub figure , charge the normal rate and just wait for some standard cars to eventually come though the system over time but we chose to make an offer to anyone that may be interested and speed the process up

i hear your point but i dont think it fits entirely and we didnt invest 10's of thousands in equipment to be giving away free runs im afraid

cheers

£35+ vat is a good price, or even £50+ vat. I had to pay £120+vat an hr at torque developments international last week, or its £60+ vat for half yr.

Glad someone sees the value in the work

to be truthful the initial investment in the dyno and indeed our workshop was always primarily for development of our own fleet of demo cars , we wanted to save time , money and other associated costs in contracting out the work to others and not always getting the quality off work we wanted or the reliability & consistency in results we expected to see

we now have the facilities to do just that , BUT , it would be foolish not to use said facilities for others as well should they want to take advantage

for me i just cant wait for this week where the ramps get fitted and the workshop is fully back to normal , i can then crack on with the development work and tuning on the ST180 which has kinda stalled for a bit and get things done at a faster pace with everything in house

so back to the original post , if you do have any of the models mentioned and they are standard and you are interested in the offer do let us know , in the long term this will help all the people that follow with modified cars learn a more scientifically derived power output at the flywheel than the guesstimate many dyno operators supply

cheers
