I'd imagine if it is good (as we all hope) then the motoring press will dub it "the new EsCos for the 21st century" or something as that'll be their point of reference with a Turbo AWD Ford hatch.

So you're just modernising

well ive finally decided to sell the es cos to fund the new rs so it had better be damn good!
good luck with the sale fella :nice: Escos a damn nice car's and handle pretty good but I think this will be off the scale. Dont think it will have the same iconic status as the Escos but ya never know it could be the start of a new era in driving and this car could be the one that pioneered it. OH and I have just sold my freshly restored Series 1 RST to fund this so I get where your coming from.

Depends whether you want to drive a car or look at it while it appreciates.

The new RS will absolutely destroy an EsCos in all driving respects (as it should). I love some of the older cars, but cars are for driving IMO.

The escos imo is what the RS brand is all about and they are fast becoming untouchable price wise :( BUT the new mk3 will be a superb car that I have no doubts about ,2 completely different cars in every possible way ,it's your decision at end of day but your escos is a cracker and it will sell for what your asking ,sometimes you just need a change and the mk3 I'm sure you won't be dissapointed .

Not from the UK, but just based on the comments, is there any possible way you could swing keeping it? Tough getting rid of a car of that stature and value for a car that will be great but is unproven. Good luck in whatever you do decide however, just don't regret it
