However if one of the club admins @Clive @Derek @Andy were to put the request in writing to either the

Ford European boss ( Stuart Rowley - president Ford of Europe) or

Ford Germany chief Executive (Gunnar Herman - Chairman, Ford-Werke GmbH)

the club might be given the build statistics information.
e.g.

* How many produced for each market

* how many of each colour per market

i wouldn't ask how many of each option as that would overly complicate the data extract, it should be available, but would be a massive amount of data, particularly when one can look up a VIN no on ETIS for build info.

the information does exist but will need a specific enquiry run on the IT systems to extract that data.

I know as I used to have an IT responsibility for some of the systems.

Ford hasn't said how many (Mk 3) Focus RSes it will build (see nailagon post above 34,034 apparently were built) . We think it will be a lot. The first two iterations of the Focus RS, the Mk1 and Mk2, saw limited production. Only 4,501 Mk1s were made and about 11,500 Mk2s were built. The elder Focus RS was built from 2002-2003 and the second coming was released in 2009 and produced for three years. That's not a lot of cars, but remember: The Focus RS (Mk1 & 2) was never sold stateside. Adding in such a large market will necessitate that Ford builds more Focus RSes. Another reason why we think Ford will make quite a lot of Focus RSes is due to how much hype the hot hatch has. Ford has built up a lot of this hype on its own, even releasing a frickin' making-of documentary!

that's the powerful effect that Marketing have over sales by using a 'Launch colour".

scenario:

marketing: we need a launch colour that captures ones attention.

sales: we need to charge more for the launch colour to maximise our profit.

marketing: whatever colour we choose as the launch colour we can charge megabucks for as the dummies will buy it because all the press pictures are of that colour.
