The rear brake heat shields on my car are covered in rust I know replacements are not that expensive but what like a job is it to remove the old ones. It looks like there is a cut out in them to go around the caliper but its difficult to get a proper look lying on the floor.

More difficult than it should be, in addition to removing braking components the wheel hub assembly must be taken off which involves new hub bolts and driveshaft bolts.
