Maximum cornering control
Ford Performance all-wheel-drive (AWD) with Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control delivers over 1 g of lateral acceleration, plus exceptional grip and ultra-precise handling when you're powering through corners.

The system employs twin electronically controlled clutch packs to help balance engine torque between the rear wheels to suit the road surface and driving conditions. And this intelligent technology also enables you to enjoy controlled oversteer drifts on track days.

Advanced 2.3-litre EcoBoost Engine Technology
The 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine's revolutionary technology incorporates direct fuel injection, twin independent variable camshaft timing and a twin-scroll turbocharger.

Tuned and calibrated specifically for the All-New Focus RS, the result is: maximum power of 350 PS and maximum torque of 440 Nm (470 Nm overboost).

Excellent low-end responsiveness is matched by powerful mid-range pull. And the free-revving top-end is set to a maximum limit of 6,800 rpm.

In an All-New Focus RS, you've got complete control over the way the car drives and handles: on the road or on a circuit. At the flick of a switch, you can change between Normal, Sport or Track settings. Each mode adjusts the AWD system, damper controls, Electronic Stability Control and ABS systems, steering and engine responses, and even the engine sound. On circuits you can select Drift Mode where the torque distribution also helps you achieve controlled oversteer drifts.

Prepare for launch
Select Launch Control, engage first gear, apply full throttle and then release the clutch. Advanced technologies instantly configure the chassis and powertrain to deliver the fastest acceleration from a standing start. Whatever the track conditions, torque is distributed through the AWD system. This maintains maximum engine power (using the turbo overboost), manages the traction control system and sets the dampers to maximum grip.

Control the damper settings, too
For further fine tuning, you can adjust the damper settings without taking your hands off the wheel (or your eyes off the road). Via the stalk switch you can select Base Mode for a comfortable yet sporty RS driving experience. Choose Sport Mode and a firmer setting delivers more defined feedback and even more precise handling on both flat and twisting roads or tracks. With the damper settings clearly displayed in front of you, you've got absolute control over them.

Change gear at the optimal point
A range of sophisticated systems and features combine to ensure that the transmission and engine provide maximum acceleration through the gears. With a Performance Shift Light, you can also see the optimum upshift point for every gear you select. And if the engine is close to hitting the limit of 6,800 rpm, the light will start flashing to warn you.

Advanced hands-free technology
Ford SYNC lets you control your music and make and receive calls on your mobile, using simple, direct voice commands. You can also use this voice control to play songs from a USB or MP3/iPod® too, or when you're streaming music from a Bluetooth®-compatible phone. And the system will even read your incoming texts aloud.

Headlamps that help you see around bends
The Bi-Xenon headlamps of an All-New Focus RS aren't just striking; they're smart. That's because they precisely follow the road as you turn the wheel, giving you outstanding visibility. They're also able to adjust the headlamps' lighting pattern, depending on your speed, the environment and the conditions. Seven different modes include specific settings for when you're driving on town roads, country lanes, motorways or in adverse weather.

A sophisticated transmission for lightning-fast gear changes
Engine power is maximised by an optimised six speed manual transmission.

A shorter gear lever and revised mechanism are designed to provide swift, accurate shifts. Both the transmission and clutch have been upgraded with stronger, more durable components to cope with this increased torque output.

Serious stopping power
Equipped with 350mm ventilated front discs and aluminium, Brembo four-piston monoblock calipers, the All-New Focus RS incorporates the most powerful braking system ever fitted to an RS model. Clever design maximises brake cooling helping to avoid fade, even under heavy track use. And the fronts discs also feature ventilation fins for enhanced cooling.
