Hi,
What fuel do you propose to use in my car (cp420).
V power or bp ultimate?

Looks like he is from GreeceHi, in the U.K. Shell V Power in 99 octane, whereas B.P. is only 98. I'd use the best available !
Can you not contact Collins Performance direct and discuss what your engine is, and needs ?ÎĄes ,I am from Greece
The question is if I can use 98ron fuel for the cp 420 and if it can damage the engine.
:facepalm:Tesco 99.
They sell some expensive one which is around 105RON I think at BP near Silverstone.Emigrate to Germany they sell 107 octane in the BP petrol stations.
These guys right? There is a company able to make fuel from carbon that the capture from the air, as petrol it has a higher octane rating, burns more efficiently and cleaner, they can also make it into a diesel replacement fuel and also aircraft fuel.
That's them, I keep seeing videos posted on facebook. They reckon cost at the pump would be no more expensive and they would need less of their plants around the world than there are power stations.
It's interesting - the article is a few years ago where the cost of a barrel was more than the regular oil but I guess scalability is the key to driving that downThat's them, I keep seeing videos posted on facebook. The videos I keep seeing on facebook give the impression of being more recent or even upto date. It's interesting - the article is a few years ago where the cost of a barrel was more than the regular oil but I guess scalability is the key to driving that down
Sites close to Circuits had it iirc?BP actually sold Ultimate 102 in the UK for a short period of time. It wasexpensive (ÂŁ2.40/litre around 2010) and was sold in a few locations only.
A mate of mine got a tank full for a Vmax event.
E10 is going to be available as 95 octane fuel - E5 (which we have now) will remain as the high octane fuel 97 and beyondAs a matter of interest would the ECU adapt if you filled up with 102RON or higher after using say 99RON or would it need to be live mapped to make the best use of a higher octane fuel? Will E10 fuel increase octane rating? I checked and would be ok for our cars.
the ECU has mapping that caters for differing octane ratings, normally quite a wide range as fuels in 3rd world and eastern bloc countries is of a lower octane rating. As a matter of interest would the ECU adapt if you filled up with 102RON or higher after using say 99RON or would it need to be live mapped to make the best use of a higher octane fuel? I don't see the ECU in a car being any different to the ECU's we are using on the Dynos at Dunton and all we do is change fuel at the cluster at the back of the cell, drain off 4-5 litres at a tap in the cell to clear the fuel lines of the previous fuel upto that point, then run the engine for about 1/2 an hour at 3000rpm and half open throttle to clear the rest of the lines upto the engine, after that, it's good to go, and the ECU is reacting to the new fuel.as for higher octane fuels, one needs to run 3-5 tankful through before the ECU will have learnt enough to be of any power difference.
