Been playing this tonight and it's seriously impressive.

The water mechanic is simply superb - driving through standing water pulls on the wheel in exactly the same way it does in the real world.

I was racing at Sebring in the pouring rain in a 22B, and it felt properly immersive - the force feedback sensation is spookily real, probably the best I've felt in any game, and that's without the need for any tweaking, which is a relief after Project Cars.

I reckon the full game will raise the bar once again, although I can't imagine that you'll be able to really appreciate the handling model using a controller.

If you've been thinking about buying a wheel for your Xbox One, now is the time to do it!

The only problem is that it launches on the same day as Taken King, which means my Destiny addiction will keep me from Forza 6 for a while :)

Looking forward to this. The demo was nice, shame they havent got much AA in it to keep it to 60 FPS.

So much better than Project Cars. I dont care what anyone says, any game you have to spend more time ******* about changing steering setup than actually playing is not a fun game!

Just a shame you cant hotlap on the rivals mode on the demo and have to keep restarting. Thats annoying.

I found the demo very frustrating not being able to skip the waffle after hearing it the first time and boy was Indy 500 boring.
Rivals was my favourite bit too so hopefully that makes it into the full game.

Going to order the ultimate forza edition today. Got a link to this wheel?
The wheel I'm using is the Thrustmaster TX - http://shop.thrustmaster.com/en_gb/xbox-one/tx-racing-wheel-ferrari-458-italia-edition.html

But I'm also using the T3PA pedal set, TH8A shifter and TM 28 leather rim.

The best part is that you can now buy just the wheel base unit, which means you're not paying for the awful standard pedal set and rim, which I ended up changing as soon as possible.

My advice, ignore the full TX system, and buy the base with decent pedals and rim from the outset. The F1 rim is particularly good too, but haven't got that yet.

Well I wasn't expecting it to feel particularly exciting just turning left for seven laps :)

That said, you always think that until you've done it. I used to take the **** out of ring racing until I did some single seater sessions at the banked ring at Rockingham - in real life it's a lot harder than you'd think it would be.

Pretty sure I could skip the talking too, but I'll check in a bit.

I would love a set-up from these guys but a rig from scratch is going to cost serious money.

The Fanatec Wheel Base V2 is fantastic, but it has only recently become Xbox One compliant, and, as you say, it's seriously expensive. And that's before you factor in the cost of a rim, pedals, shifter, etc.

The link you posted is just for the wheel hub, you'd then need to buy the rim, then £700 for the base, £300 for the pedals, and £200 for the shifter! Scary :)

Oh, and originally you had to have an invitation code to even order the wheel base! Then you'd be waiting months for delivery.

Looks like they have stock now, tempting, but I think I'll stick with the Thrustmaster setup for now, despite the fact that PS4 and Xbox One support on the same wheel is what I'd really like.

Although I think you have to buy a different wheel base/rim for each console type.

Anyone been playing this much?

I have been relentlessly playing the Abu Dhabi 430 scuderia rivals challenge.

Managed to get up to about 150 in europe and 250 in the world with a time of 2:26:470 i think it was.

I imagine that has been knocked down since last night though.

I reckon i can knock another second off it with a better lap, no idea how the guys at the top are doing 2:21's.... no way i can find another 5 seconds
