Which ever cover you have purchased, there are a few on the market, here is a quick how to guide to fit them 👍
1: Remove Maf/air sensor from cross over pipe
2: Remove cross over pipe and it’s mounting pillars/posts
3: Remove oil filler cap
4: Remove Torx head screws from engine cover
5: Remove engine cover (Duratec RS)
note: if your car still has symposer fitted this may need to be removed also
With the above steps completed move onto the next part
1: Remove the breather pipe (circled) using a flat blade screw driver, gently prize it upwards towards the bonnet.
note: there is a bolt underneath the pipe which is one of the three bolts that are swapped to hold beautification plate in place,
note: the breather pipe can only be removed once the engine cover (Duratec RS) is removed
2: Remove the two remaining bolts as circled in diagram as these are the other two bolts to be swapped to hold BP in place
3: Fit BP in place using the bolts that were supplied with it. If you were not given bolts contact your supplier, torque the bolts up to 20 N/M when fitting. The bolts should look the ones pictured below, note: if they look different they are more than likely incorrect
Refit all parts in reverse order, note: be gentle when refitting the cross over pipe mounting pillars/posts and torx head screws for the engine cover (Duratec RS) as these are screwing into Ally which is soft and the threads are easily stripped
Note: these covers do resonate a little bit/give off a slight (rattle)
