I want to spray some anti corrision wax into the cavity inside of the rear arches between the inner wheel arch and outer wheel arch as i suspect that is where a lot of the corrosion starts. Which would be the easiest way to get access? Removing the plastic side panels next to the rear seats looks like quite a big job, could it be done through the boot?

To do it properly you’ll need to remove the plastic rear quarters and boot trims. The worst part for rusting is at the rear of the arches where they meet the bumper as it rubs the paint off, so the corrosion starts from the outside.

You can access the rear area of the rear arches from the boot panels which are easy enough, however as has been said the corrosion normally starts externally. I took all mine apart before for cleaning purposes and had a good look around and internally it was all very clean. If there was any sign of rust internally i'd be concerned as it's very well sealed
