DTC codes after rear bumper removal?

So just had a call from the bodyshop repairing my Mk3 and the guy saying that because rear bumper has been removed they need to do a reset because it has error codes on it??? Now iv never heard of that before

My obd is secured which is what he was ringing about asking me if I would go down and release it which I said no and that I will reset myself, he was fine with it and said that's no problem but I'm just abit confused at how removing a rear bumper would cause any errors or lights on the dash?

probably parking sensors if they have been unplugged and ignition turned on, Can cause problems with canbus, Also could have knocked the exhaust valve

Yea see that's what I thought could have been the parking sensors so what should I just plug in my mountune handset, read codes, clear then upload standard then upload m380 again

They didn't read them mate they are just saying there are lights and codes on the dash haha which I don't get?

Right so it wasn't a DTC is was just the parking aid warning coming up, spoke to my mate at a dealership and he said to just cycle the cars ignition a few times and it would clear it and hey presto it sorted itself out and after having my brother watch me reverse back against the garage door all is working fine :thumbsup:
