Gladiator sandals reassigned to non driving days then. Who dreams up these lists?
TBH the driver has always had to be in full control of the vehicle and suitable footwear falls firmly into this category. People need so much spoon feeding to understand now, that this list has been produced to explain what is and isn't suitable in the eyes of the law. Of course the press get hold of this and then put their spin on the story.

My carpet slippers look a bit like those!
Back in the late 60's I had a pair of 'driving shoes' which had a rounded heel so you could pivot on it when using the clutch. worked ok. Got a feeling they may still be amongst the historic items of footware in the bottom of the wardrobe!
