Have factory standard usb in arm rest and factory bluetooth phone connection

Just read through the whole post! Mine is version 5.2 currently. BT streaming works however the sound quality is poor. Ive tried plugging in to the USB socket and I get track info but no sound so it would appear I need to update the software to sort this out short of using a Y cable. My nav disk is still the original 2010 disk - is it worth getting a later version first so it doesnt downgrade the software or is this not an issue and it restores the version when a later nav disk is installed?

You don't have to upgrade the sat nav dvd but if you do I think you need to upgrade to 5.3 software first otherwise the new dvd does not have all the benefits

all done! I bought a new maps DVD from ebay which came with the 5.3 software on a separate disk too, installed all that without drama. Then done the media update, it wouldn't read my 2Gb stick however I found a 8Gb unit and it worked fine on that! As far as I can tell the sound quality is better on Bluetooth and it's nice having proper functionality on the USB too

What's needed for 2010 mk2 rs to update the sat nav as mine isn't reading/seeing the roads at the moment

First off i would try removing the Nav disc and then reloading. Another option is to buy a 2019 Nav disc and ask for the v5.3 update disc. You can buy original in box for less than £30.

I don't think you can get them very easy as ford stopped supplying them there are quite a few posts on these forums about fitting a aftermarket version

I fitted one of the after market sat nave receiver units to my V6 Clio when the oem unit failed, it worked perfectly.

Morning folks, Picked up my RS 59 plate yesterday, I'd like to get the satnav and media bits upto date, I don't feel comfortable doing all this incase i knacker it, Is there anyone around the Chesterfield area that would be nice enough to do this for me ? I am new to this as I just got my RS a couple of months back and am now looking to get the sat nav all updated.

I have currently updated the unit to 5.3 but I can't find the audio updates to do via the usb has anyone still got this file online to download as all the links I see are old and no longer working.

I have them on a usb pen, the last time someone tried the pen though it didn’t work.
