Anybody use a Group a cone filter set up.? Thinking about ditching the standard airbox and fitting the Group a. What's everyone's thoughts on them.?

Don’t, the airbox is good at what it does, keeping the air charge as cool as possible. You’re better off adding a third air intake to the airbox.

I wouldn't mate go either mountune lid or better still AS CAIS keep it cold

If you go group A I would suggest looking at the Spec R set up the filter is located down in the bay for maximum cold air and it sounds amazing.
I have one on mine and love it.

I prefer to have the OEM look so I went down the Mountune X4 airbox route with a K&N 57s. If you want to reduce charge temps further then have a look at Spec-r cooler and hard pipe kit.

Same. Plus the wastegate chatter back through it is awesome. Hear what others are saying though about charge temps and I guess I may be loosing a little perf due to this (possibly balanced out by simply how breathable it is...?) so thinking of adding a cold air feed (from front air dam) when the car goes in for a service.

If im honest i like the idea of a bit of chatter. I've already got a cold air feed in the bottom corner behind the front grill.

Does a mk2 and mk3 rs airbox have the same mounting points to fit into the engine bay.? Or are they completely different.?

I had a group a on mine for about 5 years with no box and no issues. Sound is amazing, if you monitor the iat (inlet air temp) it does rise when stationary but drops to ambient temp once you start moving so yes, you'll loose power while your not moving....

I had a group A on mine but in the end went back to the mountune box, the amount of chatter was crazy even on light throttle, I prefer to listen to the exhaust sound.

There was a good reason not to go group A but no one listened.

in truth if you like the noise go for it
