Hi, just need some advice on what people think this is worth, had a accident and not sure if the car is going to written off or not, or depending if I I can buy back as salvage what would be a good price to buy back.

Haven’t got that many pictures because I didn’t think I would be in this situation.

What damage has it sustained? Will it be Cat S or Cat N damage do you know? Normally the insurance will look for around 10% of the value of the car to buy it from them. Do you have an agreed value?

Not sure, still trying to find out what the situation as it’s taking a while to get hold of the insurance company. It’s been recovered and being taken to copart salvage and then insurance company will decide, they are saying as it’s over 10 years old they usually get written off.

Availability of parts will be the issue there not just the cost (the two are entwined). I have no idea what the offer will be, but also consider what the total loss payment is.

Sorry to read what has happened, hope you're doing all good.

If you end up going with the total loss payment, get looking for similar specced cars that are for sale and using these as a guide to how much your car is worth. You will no doubt have a battle on your hands with the insurers but stay strong and good luck.

the air bags have gone off mate and when the happens it’s normally sayonara unfortunately

with your spec and mileage I’d be looking for a 25k payout

Looking at that picture, sorry to say I think that's a total write off. Front wing alone from ford (if they have any, then paint) would be around 2k. Another 2k for frint bumper. That's before a new dash, etc so you'll be looking easy 10k + in repairs.

And I'd say a 55k car in UG would be around the 28k mark.

thats deffo a right off, there will be suspension and most likely chassis leg damage,the way the wheels been pushed back will have caused the engine mounts to snap and that can cause a lot more damage to driveshafts and any parts behind the engine and thats without all the others parts and panels etc that will be required,if you can get it for a decent price then it may be worth while to buy back and break or even rebuild if its really cheap? at least you were ok,what actually happened?

They were going to write mine off for slight front end damage,i hit a flooded road on a un lit road,only needed front bumper,wheel arch lineres, front undertray,because the bumper was on back order and no ford dealership had one in stock,after a few months the insurance company paid me, I then found my own and sortted it out myself

thats gutting but at least you are ok,my nephew rolled his fiesta a few weeks back and they paid out in under a week.i couldnt believe how quick they sorted that out

Problem is that was my only car, so I need to buy a car because as soon as they ask for the courtesy car back I’m without a car. Need to buy something until the right one turns up.
