Never been interested in 'supercars'.
Have owned the Focus for coming up to 12 years now, bought just because I had never owned a brand new car before & was lucky enough to be in a position to buy it outright.
Like Carl, it has never really got my pulse racing, it's a competent Ford Focus at the end of the day but no where near as 'special' as people make out, I'd even go as far to say overrated!
Shame mk1 Escort prices have gone so high these days, if I sold the Focus, I could get another, but I refuse to pay that sort of money that, even though they sell for what they sell for, is way overpriced.

past dream cars were RS1600 which soon morphed to an RS1800. Owned a Mex for near 30yr and never ever thought i would sell it. BUT i did (for the mk2 FRS) and tbh, would not go back...I do love an escort, but i am not at that stage of life anymore.
For modern cars, Focus RS is certainly one (mk2/mk3 .... not sure why, but missed the arrival of the mk1). Always liked the cosworths but just not enough to REALLY want one. Thankfully, i still find the mk3 one of the more interesting driving cars around (c.f. boxster, Yaris GR, etc)
Next on the list was a M car, however, impracticality and later life (kids/dogs) meant that wasnt going to happen. Then i saw an X3M in the dealer when my 3series diesel was in for a service. about 6months later they did crazy deals and i jumped in. So, that is one "dream" car ticked off the list. I wont be keeping it though.
Porsche has always been there somewhere but a test on a 2.5T PDK boxer a couple of year ago was....uninspiring!. The new 4.0GTS is starting to catch my interest. So will re-visit at some time.
There is of course the RS4/6 but i think that would be like the X3M.....fast, luxurious, good handling....but...missing the X-factor
I am 52 now and with any luck of continuous employment, i might be able to retire at 60 with enough to take a LS from pension to buy something.....the GTS is top of the list (at the moment). how, i feel at the moment....would not be too upset if the MK3 was "THAT" car.

Sierra Cosworth was my dream car, one I had to have, pure lust over the thing. Hardly used during these times but always good to look at.
👍👍👍👍😍

Sierra RS Cosworth or RS500 is my dream car, yet to own either, most likely never will unless I win the Lotto

when I was growing up (have I ever) I watched a guy strip and rebuild a TR6, I had the 'love' for that car and vowed I'd have one, I've driven a couple but the reality of owning one has never materialised as it just didn't do it for me like I thought it would- never got
MK1 Rs 2000 or Mex was another dream car growing up, never got

Hi over the years I've had all my dream cars all the ford rs range ( although not a mk3 focus rs ) m cars merc amgs porches and a few others . Currently I do not have anything sporty at all having had the amgs m cars i found that the cost of owner ship ruined the experience this is with the amgs and the m cars ridiculous service costs expensive tyres tax and so on . I now find my self in a love hate situation with anything sporty but I still feel the need for something fun but not to expensive. Money isn't the problem I could go out and spend upwards of 60k but can't justify it so iam thinking of a mk3 focus rs 26/ 27k ish fun cheap running costs and all you need for the road these days

But as lottery winning dream cars are concerned my list would be
Mk4 GT40
Mk1 Lotus Cortina
RS200
RS200 Evolution
2005 Ford GT
2017 Ford GT
Add to that Rob Gravett's 1990 British Touring Car Championship winning Sierra Cosworrh RS500 as it's just been restored. My mate at work worked for Trackstar at the time and helped build the car and run it, he also worked for Mountune and built the engines for the car, so I'd pay him to look after it for me and assist at trackdays etc.

totally agree - unless you actually had a "classic" , I think they will never live up to expectations.

Similar to Mick (Posidrive), in the 80s I had a guards red 911 poster in my bedroom with whale tail and thought it was the dogs danglies along with a Kawasaki GPz900 too. Many years later and after much research I am lucky to have a 911 that's 20 years old that I cannot believe how good it is and also a 17 year old Kawasaki 750 that although isn't the quickest is more than enough for me. My garage looks like a more modern version of my bedroom. I cannot see me selling either of them, ever...
I had a poster of the GPZ1000RX, never did get one, more of a Yamaha fan, still got my '86 RD350 ypvs F1, that I bought in 1988!!

I had a saturday job in a Kawasaki shop in the early 80s. I remember all these dream bikes coming in for service - z1a/b, lawson reps, etc and also the launch of the gpz600r, gpz900r, turbo, etc. Heady days!
We also had a spell when Guzzi was re-introduced with the Le Mans 2 came out.
Would i have one now? Probably not - but maybe a new z900rs

Dream car that i should of bought (but always slipped through the net) Mk1 Escort RS2000 or Mexico - missed the boat a while ago on these, did manage a Capri 280 though so not too bad.
Dream car will never own - well it would be a Daytona or Testarossa.
Dream car (there's still a chance ) an Aston
but the RS will do for now.
