Just bought a shiny new MTB* and want to mount it on the roof along with the OH bike.

The dog will be in the back seats (in his dog friendly seat-belted padded tub) so can't fit them inside.

Has anyone experience of roof bars and bike holders and could give me some experience pointers as to what to look for?

Seen a few suggestions here https://www.roofbox..../bike-carriers/ but didn't know if it's worth paying extra for Thule? Might need adaptors to fit the 308 SW dogwaggon too..

Thanks in advance!

D

Ive used Thule with Proride bike carriers for years. Swapped them from vehicle to vehicle with the adapters. Definitely recommend.

Thanks @Knowlsey - Was looking at Thule and Cruz but will probably just go for Thule and know it'll be fine for years to come. Thule make the Ford OEM ones so must be ok.

I use Ford bars and Thule proride 591 bike carriers. Works really well, managed to get 4 bikes up there by alternating front/back facing cycle arrangement.

The Thule carriers are good and easy to use/lockable. It doesnt take much to get past the locking mechanism though so dont leave them unattended for long..
