Obviously You will be half a second quicker per lap.. listening to Fleetwood Macs the chain
only if you remember watching it with Janes Hunt and Murray Walker in the commentary box sharing a mic on BBC (for free).

The car is now home, bit crowded on the drive but it fits, and I put the new headlights in (bumper half removal needed).
Lots of little things to do before spring and a go round a track.

I’ve still got the Corsa, but due to the lock down I’ve not been able to get on the track....yet.
in the mean time I’ve been tinkering about.
1 - fitted the leather door cards from a VXR (was given them for free)
2 - replaced the awful Android head unit with a nice Pioneer system
3 - fitted centre gauges (horrible fiddly job)
4 - VXR remap from 150 to 205bhp (tried Bluefin first, not very good so refunded and now running a bespoke Courtenay Sport map)
4 - Brand new Brembo 4 pot front brakes (from the Nürburgring model)
5 - 16mm spacers & coilover adjustment (10mm higher)
6 - twin exit club sport exhaust system
Removed a lot of stickers, the previous owner loved them, and fitted a few little things like new clear side repeaters, OPC Line rear badge (covers a paint defect) and removed a lot of stuff inside that wasn’t to my taste and returned it to standard.

Ok it’s not an RS, but having a little project like this is very rewarding. It was a nice car to start with, but now it’s even better.
Tempted by:
1 - bigger intercooler
2 - VXR Nurburgring gearbox with LSD
It never stops does it?

I can’t wait to get out there and have a go. Love my RS, but there’s a lot of joy to be had in a well set up slower car, track or road.
Your Fiesta looks great, getting rare those ones now. Nice throttle bodies.

Not updated this for a bit.
Aquired a Corsa VXR gearbox with updated bearings, though mine have been done, and a Drexler LSD. The diff is now in my gearbox and I have a spare gearbox. This was a real bargain and transforms the cars drive out of corners, my favourite modification. Sorry no pics.
I’ve added an Airtec intercooler and boost pipes:

I fitted an Ultragauge as like many modern cars, there’s so few gauges to monitor engine performance (yes these work in an RS too):

And vented the bonnet (with lip to cover some rust, I’ll replace the bonnet at some point:

Yesterday was my very first track day, never ever driven on a track before. I enjoyed the day, big thanks to some friendly Mini guys who shew me the ropes and made me welcome (you may not know but we own a supercharged Mini convertible too):

It was a novice day, but I think there were some serious blaggers there as some people were very accomplished, plus some cars were worth £200k plus!!
Anyway I enjoyed myself and the car performed well, so I got off to a good start and built my confidence which is needed before working on your skills as it can feel intimidating....even before you get on the track.
Was I quick....of course not, but I didn’t expect to be, there’s more for me to learn and get from even a 1.6 Corsa.
So first one done, not the end of the line by any means, hopefully just the start. I may occasionally come back to this post to update it if people seem interested.
Ive enjoyed putting this car together on a budget, that’s part of the fun. For well under £5k I have:
Bought the car (with coilovers and Recaro CS seats)
Brembo 4 pot brakes
VXR stage 1.5 remap (205 BHP)
Drexler LSD
Twin exhaust
Intercooler & boost pipes
Touch screen stereo
Plus other little bits (that do add up)

I a word no....obviously the Corsa has more torque so a straight drag out of a slow corner I could pull away, but as a newbie I didn't carry enough speed into and through the corners so they were able to get by out of the quicker corners. Plus being my first day I was happy to let more experienced people though (trust me some had obviously done track days before despite it being a novice session) and the Mini drivers were much better track drivers than me (plus some stick semi slick tires helped them).
I will book some tuition on my next day to address the parts I can do better, plus some better front brake pads, despite having 4 pot calipers I couldn't get a sense of security with their bite.
All in all I achieved what I wanted and probably got better as the day went on, so I'm very happy with that.

I'd say you did well
track tyres are probably a must, wets & slicks, drive there in wets and change over if the weather is good
good to see you having a go

Finally got the tear on the drivers seat fixed.
Because manufacturers like to penny pinch seat bolsters tend to wear badly.

It was like this since I bought the car, so this week I had a new panel fitted.

Its at times like this you find out what you think is black vinyl is in fact grey. Colour and texture matching wasn’t easy, but I think the upholster did a fine job in both respect.

Good to see it fitted in the car again.
”Why bother it’s a track car”, Well it’s not, it’s a car to use on the track, plus the seats are expensive and the cost of the fix is much less than their value (less than 10%).
So apart from some new front pads, out of choice, the car is done and needs to be enjoyed.

tidy looking seats, what where they out of, or are they standard for that car
Standard Corsa VXR seats, so straight bolt in to this car. Recaro CS Sportsters, similar to those in our Focus RSs but different bases (lower bolsters) and side airbags. The previous owner fitted them (kind of them), very comfy, but they are heavy so not really track focused at all.
People put them in to Mini's, but modifications are needed to the subframes to fit the Mini runners.
