Theres also the DVLA site where you can check on an old registration of a car or bike you used to own that tells you the last time it was taxed or still is,

http://www.taxdisc.d...nt=link.enquiry

If it hasn't been taxed for a few years, probably means it no longer survives!

I think it should lose it's sticky status as you've posted a link that doesn't work

There must be a heck of a lot of RS's left for sale..........last time I visited my 2 local dealers, they both had cars for sale. Multiply that by the number of UK dealers, and that must be into the hundreds?

Phil.

There are more 205 gtis knocking about than focus rs

I recall there were loads of them about in the 80s. Do they distinguish between the 1.6 and the 1.9?

There are less focus rs' than i was expecting. If there were 1680 in 2008 that will be what was left of the mk1s so that would mean there are only 3500 mk2s in the UK. Im sure I've seen more than that on the road

The most recent figures available for the Focus RS 500 are: (3rd quarter of 2012)

70 Licensed & 14 Sorn - Total 84.

Also worth noting that there have never been more than 88 of the supposed 101 RHD UK cars on the DVLA database at any one time, i know a few were bought new and exported right away and others have since been exported to Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia etc. I'm sure they will appreciate very well with so many leaving the UK and so few here in the first place. Take the original RS500 for example the Sierra RS500, how rare and valuable are they 25 years on and all 500 of them were right hand drive UK cars which is a lot more than 101 and there's at least 325 Sierra RS500's left. I'm not saying the Focus RS500 will ever have the same heritage or prestige as the Sierra RS500 by the way which is in my eyes the best RS ever built but for sheer numbers the Focus RS500 is going to be a rare and valuable future classic.

The real hen's teeth Sierra RS500s were the White and Moonstone Blue cars.

Your right with what you say. The sierra commands that premium because it has proper Motorsport heritage. The focus 500 will hold its value purely due to limited volume. Personally I can't see it appreciating in the same way, it might a little but nothing like the sierra.

Now for 1st quarter of 2013 it's

62 Licensed and 21 Sorn - Total 83

One less.........

I do wonder how accurate these figures are though.

However the criteria DVLA use is in the link under the chart.

Date of first registration is the date that a vehicle first became known to the DVLA. This is usually the same as the year the car was built.

Imports will be counted under the year they were brought into the UK,
and some restored classic vehicles will be counted under the year they were brought back on the road.

On this basis I would say the 2015 registration probably falls into the latter category. Or it's a reshell.
